Ola Electric Launches S1Z Scooter with Indigenous Bharat Cell LFP Technology at ₹79,999

Ola Electric has announced the launch of its new S1Z scooter range, featuring the indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP technology. This technology, originating from Ola's Battery Innovation Centre and manufactured at its Gigafactory, aims to make advanced EV battery technology accessible to the mass market.

The S1Z is available in two variants: a 3.1 kWh version priced at ₹79,999 and a 5.1 kWh version at ₹99,999 (both ex-showroom). The 3.1 kWh variant offers a range of up to 179 km (IDC), while the 5.1 kWh variant can achieve up to 301 km (IDC).

By developing and manufacturing its LFP technology in-house, Ola Electric aims to significantly reduce battery costs, making next-generation battery technology more affordable. The S1Z is positioned as the first product to benefit from this strategy, offering enhanced safety and longevity.

Deliveries for the 3.1 kWh variant are scheduled to commence in December 2026, with the 5.1 kWh variant deliveries starting in March 2027. The scooter will be available in four colors: White, Anthracite, Sky Splash Blue, and Matcha Green, and features 12-inch wheels.

Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman & Managing Director, stated that the S1Z embodies the company's mission to bring EVs to every Indian household by ensuring affordability without compromising on technology, safety, or performance. The S1Z, which stands for 'more' or 'Zyada', will be powered by MoveOS 5 and includes features like cruise control, advanced regenerative braking, and GPS, accessible through the Ola Electric App. It will also be the first product to be rolled out through Ola Electric's dealer-operated stores, expanding its retail presence.
