Avio Smart Market Stack partners with US firms for aquaculture ecosystem

Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly Bartronics India Limited, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with US-based Aquasafra Holdings, Inc. (AHI) and Waterfield Farms, Inc. (WFI). This collaboration aims to explore the development of technology-driven aquaculture and fisheries ecosystems.

Aquasafra brings specialized capabilities in high-performance tilapia genetics, focusing on faster growth cycles, higher survival rates, and resilience. Their operating model includes broodstock development, feed optimization, farm design, and production systems, supported by decades of industry experience. ASMS will contribute its rural distribution infrastructure, covering over 5,000 villages and millions of participants, to this partnership.

The primary goal is to build scalable and commercially viable aquaculture models. This involves integrating advanced tilapia genetics, sustainable farming practices, and optimized supply chains to improve productivity, survival rates, and input efficiency. The initiative also seeks to create new livelihood opportunities in rural and peri-urban markets.

Future plans include establishing regionally adapted hatcheries for tilapia seed production, deploying modern aquaculture systems, and integrating aquaponics-based models for climate-resilient agriculture. The collaboration will also assess feed optimization partnerships, lake and reservoir stocking programs, and capacity-building initiatives for farmers and agri-entrepreneurs.

This engagement aligns with ASMS's Project AVIO Agritech strategy to expand into high-value sectors like fisheries, water resource management, and climate-linked rural enterprises. By leveraging Aquasafra's technologies and global experience, ASMS aims to build a robust aquaculture layer within its smart market stack.
